There’s a manager in our office who is married but I think could be having a serious relationship with one of the guys in her department. They seem to spend too much time together and I’ve seen them sitting in her car after work. What should I do?
You have correctly been quite cautious in the way you describe what you have been observing and I trust, too, that you have been similarly careful in expressing your views to co-workers.
Based on what you have shared, it is probably not surprising you could come to the conclusion that this manager may be having what is generally known as an “affair.”
Affairs are relatively common today, unfortunately, and the results are usually painful with hurt spouses and unhappy children.
Although she would appear to be particularly close to this employee, you should not necessarily assume that they are in an inappropriate relationship; in fact, they may have set boundaries which they are honoring.
